I squealed at my phone when I received Lan's message asking me to capture her surprise proposal at Edinburgh's Royal Botanic Gardens.  It goes without saying that I absolutely love capturing proposals, but this one excited me especially.  Not only was it at one of my favourite places, but Lan was breaking the conventional traditions that surround proposals.  I felt like we were on a mission to turn proposals on their head and create an image of woman empowerment.  An image that as Lan said "Women don't have to wait for their men to propose, they can do it too!"
