CLOD & PEBBLE : ARTISAN HANDMADE WOOD + CERAMIC WARE
CLOD & PEBBLE
Clod & Pebble is a business close to my heart. Chris Viviani AKA Clod & Pebble AKA my boyfriend, is a one man maker whose works include: tableware + homeware made from wood and clay.
When Chris first started up Clod & Pebble last year, I was eager to help and support him, and it was a no brainer that I could do so by being his photographer.
We brain stormed some ideas, and rested upon:
THE SERVICE : Product Photography + Maker's Process.
THE BRIEF : Create engaging photography for current range and capture the maker's process in the workshop. To be used for website and social media platforms.
THE STYLE : Clean and Simple with Rustic Influence.
Off white linen infinity backdrops with even light ( for full product view).
White Tea bowls shown with Matching Teapot.
Group shots with sensitive styling to help the consumer visualise using it in their own home.
Macro detail shots to showcase the handcraft qualities and tactile nature.
We decided against any staging for the Maker's Process as we wanted the photos to capture the real everyday going ons in the workshop. It only felt right to show Chris and his workshop in this very honest and rustic state. This approach reflects his personality, resonates more with his customers, and fitted the brand.
Introduce Chris by shooting him at his workshop creating a narrative behind the products.
Shooting Chris in action, here he is spinning a mixing bowl on the wheel.
